TAILCHASER® Tuna Fishing

What We Do

Tailchaser Sportfishing is a private charter business specializing in topwater bluefin tuna “run and gun” style fishing, in and around Cape Cod. Our preferred technique is using spinning gear to cast artificial lures to busting bluefin in the midst of epic topwater feeds. Not for the fainthearted, we fight these mighty fish on light tackle, standing up, with no chairs, belts or harnesses, making for some of the most extreme fishing imaginable.

The Captain

Captain Anthony Colesanti is a US Coast Guard licensed captain with a CPR certification. He is also a licensed attorney with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. Captain Colesanti has been fishing New England coastal waters including Cape Cod for nearly two decades. A passionate tuna angler, the Captain is also an avid photographer and can capture your tuna charter excursion on a combination of DSLR, GoPro and aerial drone footage.

The Vessel

Tailchaser is a 28’ Contender w/ state-of-the-art electronics, powered by twin Yamaha 4-stroke engines. With its deep V hull design, this boat is renowned for its dry and stable ride. The boat and its trailer are meticulously maintained and the motors are professionally serviced every season. Trailering allows us to choose our Cape Cod launch location, based on the latest tuna intel, to maximize opportunity. The boat has a 45mph max speed to get to the tuna grounds quickly and safely.
